Yom Herzl

Theodor Herzl (1860-1904) was the father of modern Zionism and the founder of the World Zionist Organization (WZO). Anti-Semitism stemming from the Dreyfus case prompted Herzl to draw the conclusion that the future for the Jewish People lay in resettlement in a land of their own, Eretz Yisrael. He devoted the remainder of his life to fulfilling this dream.
