Welcome to the Kaytana This Sunday Moshava began a new program, Kaytana. It is a two week program designed to give children, who have finished second and third grade, a taste of camp. These chanichim are participating in many fun activities and are well integrated into camp already. Watch them cheer at lunch.
In honor of today being Tu B'Av, the girls from Kaytana and Eidot Hey and aleph participated in a harkada. A harkada is a dance event where there is a leader who directs the activity. Racheli and her team led the group in Israeli dance and in games. A fun time was had by all. Some of the chanichot dressed in traditional white garb, while other wore hearts to signify that this day historically was the time that the young women would go out and find their mates.
Eidah Hey enjoyed Survivor, a peula run by the educational staff, several dodgeball games and archery.
Eidah Aleph celebrated a "luau", Hawaiian for party. They ate bar-b-que, wore grass skirts and played games in the sand.
We said goodbye to Eidah Bet as they went out on a shmutz. We thought the wide variety of hydration options was pretty interesting. The Eidah split into groups to hike to the site which is across the lake from Moshava's waterfront. We will be joining them for breakfast.
Eidah Gimmel returned from their shmutz last night while Eidah Daled went on a trip this morning rafting on the Delaware. Eidah Daled
