The entire Machane gathered in the beit kenesset for the opening tochnit of moshevet yerushalayim.The Rosh Mosh spoke about the beauty of Moshava where we choose to focus not on Honesdale or Pennsylvania but we choose to focus on Eretz Yisrael and Yerushalayim.

This summer we hope to look at Yerushalayim through the ages. We want to meet the people of Yerushalayim, the sites of Yerushalayim. We want to fully understand what it is like to live in Yerushalayim, to comprehend why Jews have davened and dreamed of Yerushalayim for centuries.

This summer and this year are particularly significant because we are celebrating 40 years to the reunification of Yerushalayim. It has been 40 years since the 6-day war where the Old City once again was returned to Israel. And now we sit here, 40 years later, literally surrounded by the walls of the Old City.

Each of the 40 mishlachat members carried a piece of the chomot of Yerushalayim.

In spending our summer celebrating 40 years we are going to make some changes to Machane. Look for Yerushalayim street signs to be popping up around camp.

Today in machaneh the eidot were busy doing many peulot.

Eidah Hey did Music, Drama, Ropes, Tennis and Basketball.

Eidah Bet boys had Nagarut and Soccer while the girls did Archery.
