Unlike the old days of Moshava, when campers made tents out of blankets and rope, and were taught how to tie a special knot, campers today assemble ready made, waterproof, camping tents. Nevertheless, the Moshava Chutz is always a highlight of the summer. The Eidah usually leaves in the morning for a hike to the camping site. Along the way, they might mysteriously find fruit and jerry cans waiting for them in the woods which had been strategically placed there earlier by members of the mishlachat (the Israeli staff). Once at the camp-site they assemble their tents, build chairs, a kitchen area, and a Beit Knesset. In the evenings, as everyone sits around grilling food over the campfires and roasting marshmallows, there is a kumsitz and a night activity. Click on the pictures for a first-hand look at Eidah Daled’s chutz and hear what they have to say to our Roving Reporter (click here)or (here).
