During the first week of our theme, Moshevet Hatenuah, we started to learn about Bnei Akiva through its namesake, Rabbi Akiva. The chanichim saw a series of vignettes that illustrated how Rabbi Akiva was a true Talmid chacham who, through years of self-sacrificing and study, became one of the greatest leaders in Am Yisrael’s history.
On Friday afternoon, the chanichim gathered together for their first Erev Shabbat Mifkad, a Bnei Akiva tradition done throughout the world, where everyone lines up to form the letter Chet to review the week’s highlights and to preview what Shabbat has in store for Machane Moshava.
