As part of this month's theme, Ahavat Ha'aretz (love of the land of
Israel) campers are learning about different places in Israel. Of course,
Moshava has campers engaged in a challenge, or a popular Moshava original
game, affectionately called Where is Smelly? (short for Chaim SEMELovitch).
Here's what it's all about: To introduce the theme of the month, the
campers watched a power point about places in Israel. A central character,
Chaim Semelovitch (Aka Smelly) appears in the presentation to challenge the
camp. He asserts that Machane Moshava is not doing a good enough job
teaching campers about Israel (Yediat Ha'aretz) and if he were Rosh
Moshava, the campers would know a lot more. So campers are engaged in a
race against Smelly to prove him wrong and to find him. To prove him wrong
they have to demonstrate that they do, in fact, know about Israel, which
they do by decipering his clues. The game plays out at many activities in
camp and at most lunch meals, where there are power point presentations
depicting different places in Israel with clues such as the one below.
Campers who correctly guess the place(s) in Israel win prizes.

A clue:
A message from Smelly...
Getting closer you may be
But you will never EVER find me
But to be fair, here is a hint
Of where I was on my last sprint...
This ancient town from days of yore
Has grown to more than was before
South of TA and West of J-Town
the hint to the name is UP and not down
Home of the Ark for quite some time
Listen carefully to the rest of the rhyme
I passed through this place on the run
Listening to "House of the Rising Sun"
(Answer: Beit Shemesh)
