Opening Tochnit

The entire camp gathered on the basketball courts on Thursday night for an event to launch Moshevet Shivtei Yisrael (the theme of 1^st month). The evening culminated in fireworks and dancing as per the tradition of Camp Moshava. The Mishlachat staff prepared the Ketovet Aish that was lit during the program. The theme of the month, Shivtei Yisrael, refers to the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel. (For further information click here) The program began with the hadlakat masuot (lighting of torches that is done between Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut) Each one of the brothers lit a torch on behalf of the eidot and tzevet. Some Tzevet members contributed to the festivities by providing music for the camp to dance to.
