T'isha B'AvT'isha B'Av in camp is always a powerful experience. Although it has been raining here and we did not have our usual candle-lit procession, campers gathered in the Chadar Ochel (lunch room) to hear Eichah. Avi Billet, our talented drama director, made the tragedies of T'isha B'Av more real for campers, as he dramatized some poignant descriptions from Eichah. This was followed by a dramatic and thought provoking audio-visual show for Eidot gimmel and daled, in which they had to confront the dangers that continued disunity and apathy would present to Israel and the Jewish world. This was followed by slow shira. Living History MuseumIn an innovative program, Eidot Bet and Gimmel have spent the last few days creating a Living History Museum of the Jewish People. Campers were split into small groups, they selected themes or time periods in Jewish history that they wanted to represent.
Today, they were busy putting their designs together in Moadon Alon and Brosh. The Museum will be on display for the other eidot throughout the rest of the day.
