Machane Moshava affords a wide array of traditional and non-traditional camp activities.
In addition, Moshava selects educational themes that guide the
programming for the month. Every month has a theme, every week has a sub theme, and activities are designed to further illustrate and build upon the theme.
This month’s theme is Moshevet Manhigut, Leadership.
With a powerful audio
visual presentation for opening night, campers were introduced to the concept of leadership -
What defines a leader? How does one lead? Who are some famous Jewish leaders, and why?
Theodore Herzl
Golda Meir
Menachem Begin
Rav Kook
Natan Sharansky
Elie Wiesel
The opening tochnit inaugurated our campers as junior ambassadors for Israel, charging them with recognizing the importance of standing up for what one believes in and for making their own, individual contributions to their people.
During the first week we will be exploring Manhigut Azmit , leading oneself, followed by
Manhigut Kehilatit , communal leadership, Manhigut Leumit
, national leadership, and
Manhigut Olamit , world leadership.
The opening program concluded with a spectacular fireworks
show.
