Building the Land

As part of this month's topic, moshevet nivne atrzeinu, the focus this week has been on Building a Nation. This included an exploration of Jewish identity as well as activities that taught the chanichim who the leaders of Israel are and how they contributed to Eretz Yisrael.


The younger eidot were given a map of camp that corresponded to a map of Jerusalem and were instructed to visit a number of streets that were named in honor of these personalities.

At each stop of this scavenger hunt they met the individual and had to provide information in order to get the pieces to win the hunt. The older eidot also learned about our great leaders but did so through the game “Rush Hour” where the object is to move your car out into the free spot.

In the first round of the game the chanichim were asked questions about the personality. If they answered correctly they were allowed to move their piece. In the second round the chanichim made up the questions for one another.
