Azkarah for Judah Schwarz

Last Sunday 75 of last years Machal campers, Shevet Elad, and staff came up to camp and joined with this years Machal, Shevet Lavi, to honor the memory of Judah Schwarz z"l . The day began with a welcome from Alan Silverman, the camp director, who delivered a d'var Torah and introduced the affixing of three mezuzot to a new Beit Midrash in Machal that will be dedicated on visiting day in August in Judah's memory.

The mezuzahs were hung by Jeremy Blumenthal , Judah's first cousin, a camper at Machal, Yehudah Gelberger and Shmarya Gasner Judah's friends and co-counselors from last year.

Rabbi Morrie Wruble, a staff member at Moshava and Judah's rebbe at Shaarei Mevasseret Zion then gave a shiur. This was followed by a slide show about Judah.

The assembled broke off into smaller groups
and learned Mishnayot in Judah's memory.

After this Rav Felberman, Rav HaMachane and a Rav at SMZ and MMY gave an inspiring shiur.

Channah Spiegelman, Rosh Mosh, closed the program and wished a tzeitchem l' shalom to Shevet Elad who are going on Machach B' Aretz and will not be present at the formal Beit Midrash dedication on August 1.

Everyone shared in a Seudat Mitzvah barbeque.
