On Saturday night, the entire Machane gathered on the boys basketball court for part 2 of the opening tochnit -for Moshevet Nivne Artzeinu- We will build our land Israel.
The tochnit started with a skit done by tzevet (staff) members as they were portraying what was happening in May 1948/ Iyar 5708 as Israel was about to be declared a state. The skit ended when they announced the formation of the state of Israel.
Following the skit, the mishlachat (Israeli staff) did a celebratory dance. A slide show then presented scenes of Israel, famous leaders, and other facets that have contributed to the building of our Jewish state.
The name of the Moshevet was lit on fire and a great band played. People started dancing and carrying Israeli flags. It was a very nice and exciting night for everyone- both campers and staff.
