Maccabiah 2003
Tikvah vs. Knisa

Though these two names, Tikvah (hope) vs. K’nisa (entry) go hand in hand, for the purposes of maccabiah (color war), they are competing against each other. Relating back to the theme of the month, Kibbutz Galuyot (the ingathering), throughout the centuries, the Jewish people maintained their hope of returning to the Jewish homeland. Indeed, over the past century
we have witnessed a miraculous return to Israel from many countries.

Teams are judged on all sorts of traditional and non-traditional activities. They are judged on their D’var Torah, nikayon (clean-up), decorations of the Chadar Ochel, original cheering at meals, a Chidon, waking up in the morning, daglanut (flag presentation), 4 musical presentations (including a stomp band), sports, team banner and art presentations.
