Visiting Day
Midrash Matanya

Matanya Robinson z"l fell in combat in Jenin on April 2002. His family, the Robinsons and Tolchinskys, have been a part of Moshava Indian Orchard for over 30 years. Their association with Moshava began with Rena's mother who was the first camp mother.

This visiting day we dedicated the refurbished Beit Midrash in Matanya's memory.

The day began with his father, Marc, fixing a mezuzah on the Beit Midrash door.

When the visitors arrived we had a dedication ceremony.

Matanya's father spoke about the circle of connections to Moshava in Matanya's life. The parents of the medic that rushed in to save Matanya went to Moshava Wild Rose.

Grandmother Tolchinsky, a former teacher and camp mother in Moshava, spoke about Matanya's kindness.

Members of the BMP offered eulogies and said Tehillim.

A video portraying Matanya's short but productive life was viewed followed by an a capella choir of staff and children. The ceremony was extremely moving.

Pictures that Matanya photographed were hung in the Beit Midrash.

In the afternoon, parents and campers enjoyed Moshava's facilities, bringing their children a taste of home. In some cases, this meant including the family pet.
